Cheeky Size Matters

Cheeky Size Matters

The night I met my now-husband, I was wearing ill-fitting pants. I don't remember why I held onto them and kept wearing them - forgetting the wise and kind sign my wise, kind mom has in her closet "Wear your GOOD clothes,” for one - but I do actually remember the distracting discomfort of those pants. Thank Goddess they didn't get in the way of true Love! (For the record, I don't believe it really ever should or even could. But I do think it could get in the way of a successful job interview. Someday I'll tell you about the time i wore a gray knit shirt to one ...)

In spite of my less-than choice that night, I believe we all deserve the ease and dignity of properly fitted, stylish, comfortable clothes as we take on the ups and downs of this life. Many of us feel pressure - much of it from ourselves - to present a certain way, and for many of us, how we feel about how we look directly affects how we carry ourselves. And some of us sometimes feel like that we aren't / the day isn't worthy of our good clothes. These are subjects for Love Letters for other days (and possibly a good dose of therapy and/or at least a whole lot of strong books and girl power work).

For now, let’s take one worry off of our list: the comfortable, properly fitting first layer.

One of our loyal collectors likes to have backups to all of her undergoodies on hand so she knows it’ll be a breeze to get dressed every morning. (Another reason might be that her college-age daughters have been known to “accidentally” pack them when they head back to their campuses.) She has compared having undergoodies that complement her dresses to Garanimals for adults. If you’re too young to remember Garanimals, I’m sorry and am happy you have AI, and may undergoodies now add this fun morning matching game to your day.

Can new underthings change your life? In five words, it can change it some! If how we spend our days is how we spend our lives, I suppose how we feel and show up each day adds up to how we feel and show up over the course of our lives. It is for sure time to show up feeling your best and bringing all you wanna bring. And maybe then some, if your first layer makes you move a bit slinkier and strut a bit sassier.

I’ve reached a place in my life where I’m rarely willing to tolerate clothes that don’t feel like pajamas, and I project this onto you and everyone else via my #1 priority for undergoodies: comfort. YOUR comfort. (And then comes style, because, see the previous paragraph. And then comes quality and conscientious business practices. But I digress ...)

Here’s how:

  • We make undergoodies in seven sizes.
  • All components of all undergoodies are soft and stretchy.
  • Our full cuts mean fabric goes where it needs to for floaty, skimming coverage
  • Plenty of companies make shapewear, and while we respect it, we don’t. This being said, some undergoodies like Honeys and Jasmines do smooth under clothes; they just aren’t meant to compress or constrict.
  • We provide notes and tips about fit on our website. We all know from experience, and my stars, how I now know that keeping manufacturing sizing consistent across designs is a challenge - we work hard to keep them close and alert you to differences to guide you.
  • We are happy to advise via email when you’re purchasing, and stores who carry undergoodies are happy for you to try them on and help you in person.

Let's get the right size(s) of undergoodies in your closet - and on your body - now so they can:

  • take a daily worry off of your list
  • remove the tuggy, rolly, itchy, sticky, fidgety ugh of the not-quite-right underthing from your life!
  • solve challenges, like making short / sheer / swingy dresses wearable and all dresses comfortable in public, in wind, on stairs and so on ... (Your undies show more often than you think they do!)
  • play well and color coordinate (yes more joy please!) with your clothes
  • change up an outfit's length / color / mood - oh, the LBD possibilities!
  • be styled as lounge & outerwear, elevating a statement tee now and a cozy sweater later … perhaps rocked at night with a blazer, legs for miles, and killer shoes … you get the ideas … and if not, check out our instagram … we LOVE seeing how you style them!

Thank you for reading today’s Love Letter, and may choosing "what to wear under there" be always an easy and comfortable and joyful (why not!?) start to your outfit and to your day, and may nothing ever get in the way of Love.

In peace, gratitude, & undergoodies,

Mindy
